BURN BAN REMINDER – CENTERVILLE VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT
JUST A REMINDER:
The burn band has ONLY been “partially” lifted for our Fire District which is Fire Protection District #2, per Fire Chief Randy Hanagriff. This is put in place since October 16, 2023.
This is being re-evaluated weekly in our area.
As of now, we are still under a PARTIAL burn ban.
As of this time, Chief Hanagriff, will still ONLY allow small fire pits, grills and barbecue pits if you have a source of water nearby while burning.
Please use caution while burning.
This is the ONLY burning that is allowed at this time.
This is for the safety and protection of our community and citizens
No other burning such as yard clean-up, leaf burning, property clearing, large bon-fires or construction burning will be allowed at this time until further notice.
Per Department of Agriculture, cane farmers ARE being ALLOWED to burn cut cane at this time for sugar cane harvest. This is NOT part of the fire department.
