WEATHER UPDATE FROM US NWS LAKE CHARLES 6.16.26 7 AM

Good morning all,

Showers and storms are ongoing at this hour. Another round of widespread convection is expected to fire off during daylight hours in response to boundary moving over the north Gulf states.

Some areas received another 1 to 4 inches of rainfall overnight and another 2 to 4 could be possible area-wide by tonight.

• Average totals of 2 to 6 inches with reasonable highest totals 10 to 15 (isolated up to 20 inches) are possible by Sunday. The flooding risk will increase with each day and the flood watch has been extended to 7 AM Thursday. Future extensions are possible.
