WEATHER UPDATE FROM US NWS LAKE CHARLES SLACK CHANNEL 8.5.26

Good morning all, the main forecast graphic was freshened up with the evening forecast values. Not only are we returning to typical summer conditions. we are returning to school time.
This means a return to climate normal weather (temps in the low to mid 90s and daily thunderstorm chances) but also a return to parents’ earlier mornings in the drop off line and a return to outdoor activities (practices, recess, etc).

KNOW the signs of heat illness in yourself and in others
Remind friends, family, neighbors: LOOK before you lock
When Thunder Roars, GO INDOORS
And finally, CHECK IN on those who may be more vulnerable to this return to outdoor activities!
