Survey Deadline for Restore Louisiana Program is June 30

I wanted to inform you that the Louisiana Division of Administration, Office of Community Development – Disaster Recovery has set a deadline of Monday, June 30 for homeowners impacted by Hurricane Francine to complete the initial survey necessary to participate in the Restore Louisiana Homeowner Assistance Program.

This federally funded program provides grants to eligible homeowners for:

  • Home repair or reconstruction
  • MHU (Manufactured Housing Unit) replacement
  • Reimbursement for home repairs already completed

The state has directly contacted potentially eligible homeowners to encourage survey participation, and we will continue to do so leading up to the June 30 deadline.

Program assistance is available to qualifying homeowners located in the nine federally declared disaster parishes: AscensionAssumptionJeffersonLafourcheSt. CharlesSt. JamesSt. John the BaptistSt. Mary and Terrebonne. Eligibility criteria include:

  • Must have been the owner-occupant at the time of the disaster event and still maintain ownership throughout application period
  • The damaged address must have been the homeowner’s primary residence at the time of the disaster event
  • The damage suffered must be the result of Hurricane Francine
  • The structure must be eligible as determined by the program, which includes single family homes, duplexes, mobile homes and condominiums
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or legally documented resident
  • Must have applied for FEMA Individual Assistance following the disaster, and FEMA’s damage assessment must indicate that the damage to home is major/severe. FEMA major/severe damage includes one of the following:
    • FEMA inspected residential damage of $8,000 or greater
    • At least one foot of flooding on the first floor
    • FEMA inspected personal property damage of $3,500 or greater
  • The structure must be in one of the nine disaster-declared parishes

Homeowners can complete the program survey online at restore.la.gov or by calling 866.735.2001. Homeowners who do not complete the survey by the June 30 deadline may not be considered for assistance.
