Press Release (Media/Web) LADOTD to Begin LA 182 Rehabilitation Project in Morgan City

The project will begin approximately 100 feet west of the intersection with 7th Street and extend approximately 253 feet east of the railroad overpass in Morgan City.
Project Benefits
The project will improve the condition and longevity of LA 182 by addressing deteriorated pavement and providing a new asphalt surface along the project limits. The improvements are expected to provide motorists with a smoother roadway, enhance the overall driving experience, and help preserve the roadway for future use.
The project also includes improvements to curb ramps, which will enhance accessibility for pedestrians and other roadway users.
Construction Information
Work will consist of milling asphalt concrete, pavement patching, roadway reinforcing mesh, asphalt concrete overlay, curb ramps and related work.
Construction is expected to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting. Weekend and nighttime work may also be required.
Intermittent alternating lane closures will be necessary throughout the project to allow crews to safely perform the work. The roadway will remain open to traffic, with a 10-foot lane restriction for oversized loads traveling through the work zone.
Emergency vehicles will have access to the area but may encounter delays.
The project is estimated for completion in summer 2027.
