UPDATE FROM US NWS LAKE CHARLES SLACK CHANNEL 6 AM 10.15.26

Good morning everyone! In the near term, the Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect through 9AM and has been expanded to included Calcasieu Parish. Looking ahead, fire weather becomes a concern tomorrow into Saturday as strong northerly winds advect a a very dry airmass into the region behind a cold front that will move through early tomorrow. The Fire Weather Watch remains in effect (no changes), and further hazards are likely to be issued later today. Apart from the increase in fire weather concerns, a very pleasant weekend is on the way as we finally get our first taste of fall.
