- SPILLS/RELEASES/ACCIDENTS – reports 10. JIMMY
- Natural Gas: Some gas companies reported blow downs from
- Crude oil: multiple oil sheens reported coming from near oil platforms all year round..
- This year pipelines have conducted a lot of blow downs.
- Diesel Fuel: some boats reported minor spills mainly when running bilge pumps.
- SERIOUS ACCIDENTS/INCIDENTS – Jimmy Broussard
- Atchafalaya River: water levels rose this year resulting in closing of the bayou chene barge and some floodgates on the seawall in morgan city and berwick. After that is was just monitoring levees and construction along levees.
- COVID: less news but still there and present. Employers
Still need to keep in place rules for keeping workers home and using ppe after return to work.
- Vaccines: Vaccines are available and ongoing.
- EMERGENCY PLANS/UPDATES
- MOU with school board for evacuation center plans were recently approved for Morgan City Jr. high and Franklin High Schools.
- Evacuation processing centers plans were updated for Morgan City Jr. High with Franklin High. Minor changes due to different personnel assignments.
- Construction on HWY 90 in St Mary and in Iberia parish Still ongoing. Baldwin on hwy 90 should be opening soon. More bids are put out for section of hwy 90 in Iberia parish.
- 7/17/2025 HWY 90 WESTBOUND- BALDWIN IS NOW OPEN
- EXERCISES COMPLETED AND PLANNED FOR 2025-2026
- Pipeline Safety Association of Louisiana, coming up August 5 at Patterson Civic Center.
- Exercise for Region 3 OPH operations in Thibodaux, La at, Nicholls was held 28 MAY hurricane topic.
- PRESENTATION GIVEN BY ANDREW SHEFFIELD, OPH. FLYERS HANDED OUT FOR UPCOMING TRAININGS WITH TEXAS A&M CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE SECURITY AND RISK ASSESSMENT.
- INFORMATION HAND OUT FOR COMMUNITY HEALTHWAYS – HARVEY CHAUVIN, OPH COMMUNITY HEALTH SUPERVISOR
- STATE HAM RADIO EXERCISE 7/17/2025 – GREEN EYE MONSTER
- EOC ATTENDED HURRICANE TABLETOP EXERCISE AT OCHSNER MORGAN CITY
- HURRICANE PREPAREDNESS
- PARISH ADMISTRATION ATTENDED ETN TRAINING WITH DCFS.
- EOC ATTENDED GOHSEP/FEMA PDA/IA TRAINING AT IBERIA OHSEP

Updates
- We are still receiving, storing and shipping out supplies as requested. Many departments have conducted online training sessions with pipeline companies in the area.
- HAM RADIOS AT FRANKLIN EOC AND PORT OF MC EOC and planning on going to add high frequency radio. Ham radios are now at Ochsner Morgan City and Bayou Bend – Franklin. Volunteer radio personnel have come in and assisted in setting up radio equipment and doing testing. Gohsep came to morgan city and added a regional GOHSEP radio repeater at morgan city port bldg..
