DROUGHT OUTLOOK FROM US NWS LAKE CHARLES 2.26.26

Good afternoon.

The drought conditions continue to worsen over sections of SE Texas and SW Louisiana due to a lack of substantial rain. The latest drought information statement is attached.

Outside of low rain chances tonight into tomorrow, the forecast remains generally dry through much of next week. The medium range forecast does favor a wetter pattern returning to the region by the second week of March.
