WEATHER UPDATE FROM US NWS LAKE CHARLES SLACK CHANNEL 8.6.26

Good morning,

Expecting another smattering of showers and thunderstorms today as upper level high backs off and tropical moisture surges inland. Not anticipating a severe risk, but with little flow, we could see an isolated area or two receive a heavy downpour in a short period of time.

Once again we focus our messaging on the hot weather pattern and the return to outdoor activities and school schedules.
