UPDATE FROM US NWS LAKE CHARLES SLACK CHANNEL 9.9.26

NWS – Lake Charles – Cam Kowalski [7:33 AM]
Conditions today are forecast to be in the low to mid 90s with a scattered chances of showers / storms. Temperatures this week will
persist in the low to mid 90s with a few areas holding on to the upper 80s. Rain chances begin to increase throughout the week with
the highest rain chances on Friday and Saturday where a few of these storms could become strong to severe. Several troughs moving
through our region and interacting with a surge of moisture from the Gulf are responsible for the increase of chances of rainfall later
this week. Currently, there is an Excessive Rainfall outlook for Saturday as any of the strong to severe storms may produce heavy
downpours leading to instances of flash flooding.
