UPDATE FROM US NWS LAKE CHARLES 10.19.26
With dry air in place and ongoing drought, our main concern for the next couple days will be elevated fire danger in the afternoons.
For today, areas along and north of I-10 will see the greatest concerns. Burn bans are in effect for several counties/parishes across
our area. Be aware of any local burn bans and if you see a wildland fire, call your local fire department or 911 center.
We’ll also see some gusty winds over our offshore Gulf waters tomorrow afternoon and evening, where a Small Craft Advisory is in effect.
Otherwise, high pressure firmly in control will keep dry and seasonable weather over our area through this week, with rain chances
near zero through next weekend.
