WEATHER UPDATE FROM US NWS LAKE CHARLES SLACK CHANNEL 7.9.26

NWS – Lake Charles – Cam Kowalski [7:04 AM]
Good morning Partners. Today we expect a little more subsidence aloft to help prevent widespread convection. That said, a typical summertime pop up thundershower cannot be completely ruled out. The atmosphere becomes once again for scattered to potentially widespread coverage of convective activity by Saturday. Troughing across the Central Plains is expected to deepen and increase upper level flow into the Southern Plains, developing a slow moving frontal boundary. Moisture convergence against the frontal pattern will lead to increasing chances of precipitation as it makes its way to Central LA Monday afternoon. In the meanwhile, a hot and humid forecast will persist.
