WEATHER UPDATE FROM STATE CLIMATOLOGIST, JAY GRYMES 6.7.26

Summer heat looks like it’s set-in for the long haul now.  Some LA communities may dodge the 90°s for the next day or so, but we could be seeing mid-90°s across the northern half of the state by late this week.
Even though no fronts are expected to move through the state, most parishes won’t be entirely ‘rain-free’ for the week.  However, even for those areas that do get rain will likely record minimal totals that are well-below regional soil-moisture demands (ET).  The good side of this drier pattern is a lack of local flash flooding concerns and little to no organized severe weather threats are expected.
