UPDATE FROM US NWS LAKE CHARLES SLACK CHANNEL 8.18.26

Good morning everyone! It’s gonna be another warm and toasty day out there with temperatures expected to top out

in the mid 90s to near 100 degrees once again. A Heat Advisory is once again in effect beginning at noon for our

central and south-central LA parishes.

NWS – Lake Charles – Doug Cramer [8:07 AM] A risk for rapid onset drought has now been analyzed over much of

southeast Texas and Louisiana.

This morning’s updated KBDI. The risk for a rapid spread in wildland fires continues to increase due to the hot and

dry conditions that have persisted across the region over the past few weeks.
