UPDATE FROM US NWS LAKE CHARLES 9.10.26

Good morning Partners. Concerns regarding instances of Flash Flooding will carry into the early weekend due to a weakness aloft.

The good news is that locations which have received minimal rainfall so far this month will have opportunities daily through the

weekend to see at least a wetting rain of 0.25″ or greater. Overall, no one day is expected to be a full on sunup to sundown washout.

However, Friday and Saturday do carry higher chances of rainfall which may occur in multiple scattered rounds. Warmest highs

are expected well inland across interior zones while counties and Parishes along/south of I-10 will carry slightly cooler highs

and warmer lows. Be sure to check back for updates as this unsettled wet pattern can facilitate local impacts. Thunderstorms

that develop will have the potential to produce localized downdrafts that may carry damaging winds, although there is no

severe risk outlined by the Storm Prediction Center at this time.
